Our main class is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who wants or needs to learn how to respond to and manage a sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency responders or healthcare professionals take over. Students learn skills such as adult, child and infant CPR, safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and choking relief.
This course is designed for those who need a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements, or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
We also place the lessons in context of learning how CPR and AED saved Ira Rosenau’s life on March 21, 2022.
Content and Modules
The online portion for this course takes 2.25 hours and in-class skills practice and test take approximately 2 hours.
First Aid Expanded Version. In addition to our main Heartsaver course, this class also includes First Aid skills such as how to treat choking, bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, opioid overdose and other first aid emergencies.
Reduced Version. This stripped-back version of our main Heartsaver course focuses solely on Adult CPR and AED only (no First Aid, child or infant).
Online portion takes 1 hour and in-class skills practice and test take 30 minutes.
AHA Heartsaver CPR-AED-First Aid course completion card is valid for 2 years.
The American Heart Association offers eLearning and blended learning courses to provide complete, flexible training solutions. Students are able to complete online training at their own pace, while companies and healthcare organizations can overcome obstacles such as scheduling, reaching remote employees and diverse learning styles.
This program teaches the lifesaving skills of adult, child and infant CPR; adult and child AED use; and choking relief for an adult, child or infant.
This class is designed for education of the general public and is not appropriate for healthcare providers.

The course takes approximately 2.0 hours.
