Our Name
The name “2.0 Consulting” has a two-fold meaning to me.
On one level, 2.0 indicates that that my professional services can help upgrade your business to its next level, much like a software upgrade improves the performance of that application. All businesses need to keep evolving with the times. With foresight and planning, we can help you move up to that next level.
On another level, 2.0 has become a shorthand explanation for my continued evolution after surviving cardiac arrest. It was a heart attack, not a personality transplant. I am, in many ways, the same person with the same proclivities, passions and traits. However, I have also dedicated myself to living my second life with a renewed vision and energy about how I live my life, interact with others, and assess my priorities. I would simply say to people, “I am Ira 2.0.” Everyone liked that joking summary, and people in my personal and professional life took to calling me “Ira 2.0” when I was conducting myself mindfully, and “Ira 1.0” on those occasions when I came up a little short.
As I contemplated what I wanted this new venture to be, I kept coming back to this phrase, and its two-fold meaning. The name captures so much of myself and what I can offer professionally. Welcome to 2.0 Consulting.

As part of my mindfulness journey after surviving cardiac arrest, I have done a lot of studying of the underpinnings of this philosophy as I put it into practice– very often, the premises and techniques circle back to Buddhist practices.
The lotus flower, and particularly the green lotus, is a Buddhist symbol of rebirth and perseverance – two concepts I now understand in a new way. The lotus flower grows in water, rooted in the muddy sediment, as it struggles through the water to burst through the surface to the light and blossoming beauty. Without the mud, there is no lotus. Without the struggle of persevering through pain and suffering, we cannot truly emerge into a mindful existence. And when we grow through the mud and we break through the surface, the blossoming beauty awaits us.
Hence, my green lotus logo, with the heart placed appropriately in the center of the blossoming flower.
